In the Lord I Take Refuge

､ לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ
lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ,
To the Chief Musician ､

a Psalm of David .
בַּֽיהוָ֨ה ׀
Yah·weh
– חָסִ֗יתִי
ḥā·sî·ṯî,
I put my trust –
אֵ֭יךְ
’êḵ
תֹּאמְר֣וּ
tō·mə·rū
､ לְנַפְשִׁ֑י
lə·nap̄·šî;
to my soul ､
[נודו]
nū·ḏū
-
(נ֝֗וּדִי)
nū·ḏî,
הַרְכֶ֥ם
har·ḵem
؟ צִפּֽוֹר׃
ṣip·pō·wr.
[as] a bird ؟

､ כִּ֤י

for ､
､ הִנֵּ֪ה
hin·nêh
look ､
הָרְשָׁעִ֡ים
hā·rə·šā·‘îm
the wicked
יִדְרְכ֬וּן
yiḏ·rə·ḵūn
､ קֶ֗שֶׁת
qe·šeṯ,
[their] bow ､
כּוֹנְנ֣וּ
kō·wn·nū
חִצָּ֣ם
ḥiṣ·ṣām
עַל־
‘al-
on
､ יֶ֑תֶר
ye·ṯer;
the string ､
לִיר֥וֹת
lî·rō·wṯ
בְּמוֹ־
bə·mōw-
in
אֹ֝֗פֶל
’ō·p̄el,
לְיִשְׁרֵי־
lə·yiš·rê-
at the upright
. לֵֽב׃
lêḇ.
in heart .

כִּ֣י
kî
If
הַ֭שָּׁתוֹת
haš·šā·ṯō·wṯ
､ יֵֽהָרֵס֑וּן
yê·hā·rê·sūn;
צַ֝דִּ֗יק
ṣad·dîq,
מַה־
mah-
؟ פָּעָֽל׃
pā·‘āl.
can do ؟

יְהוָ֤ה ׀
Yah·weh
Yahweh [is]
､ בְּֽהֵ֘יכַ֤ל
bə·hê·ḵal
in temple ､
קָדְשׁ֗וֹ
qā·ḏə·šōw,
יְהוָה֮
Yah·weh
– בַּשָּׁמַ֪יִם
baš·šā·ma·yim
in heaven –
כִּ֫סְא֥וֹ
kis·’ōw
throne [is]
עֵינָ֥יו
‘ê·nāw
､ יֶחֱז֑וּ
ye·ḥĕ·zū;
behold ､
עַפְעַפָּ֥יו
‘ap̄·‘ap·pāw
､ יִ֝בְחֲנ֗וּ
yiḇ·ḥă·nū,
test ､
בְּנֵ֣י
bə·nê
the sons
. אָדָֽם׃
’ā·ḏām.
of men .

יְהוָה֮
Yah·weh
– צַדִּ֪יק
ṣad·dîq
the righteous –
יִ֫בְחָ֥ן
yiḇ·ḥān
וְ֭רָשָׁע
wə·rā·šā‘
but the wicked
וְאֹהֵ֣ב
wə·’ō·hêḇ
and the one who loves
חָמָ֑ס
ḥā·mās;
שָֽׂנְאָ֥ה
śā·nə·’āh
. נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃
nap̄·šōw.

יַמְטֵ֥ר
yam·ṭêr
He will rain
עַל־
‘al-
רְשָׁעִ֗ים
rə·šā·‘îm,
the wicked
､ פַּ֫חִ֥ים
pa·ḥîm
coals ､
אֵ֣שׁ
’êš
､ וְ֭גָפְרִית
wə·ḡā·p̄ə·rîṯ
and brimstone ､
– וְר֥וּחַ
wə·rū·aḥ
and a wind –
זִלְעָפ֗וֹת
zil·‘ā·p̄ō·wṯ,
מְנָ֣ת
mə·nāṯ
[Shall be] the portion
. כּוֹסָֽם׃
kō·w·sām.
of their cup .

kî-
צַדִּ֣יק
ṣad·dîq
יְ֭הוָה
Yah·weh
Yahweh [is]
– צְדָק֣וֹת
ṣə·ḏā·qō·wṯ
אָהֵ֑ב
’ā·hêḇ;
יָ֝שָׁ֗ר
yā·šār,
יֶחֱז֥וּ
ye·ḥĕ·zū
. פָנֵֽימוֹ׃
p̄ā·nê·mōw.
