There is No Fear of God Before his Eyes

､ לַמְנַצֵּ֬חַ ׀

lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ

לְעֶֽבֶד־

lə·‘e·ḇeḏ-

a Psalm of the servant

. יְהוָ֬ה

Yah·weh

לְדָוִֽד׃

lə·ḏā·wiḏ.

נְאֻֽם־

nə·’um-

An oracle concerning

פֶּ֣שַׁע

pe·ša‘

the transgression

לָ֭רָשָׁע

lā·rā·šā‘

of the wicked

בְּקֶ֣רֶב

bə·qe·reḇ

､ לִבִּ֑י

lib·bî;

my heart ､

אֵֽין־

’ên-

[There is] no

פַּ֥חַד

pa·ḥaḏ

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God

לְנֶ֣גֶד

lə·ne·ḡeḏ

. עֵינָֽיו׃

‘ê·nāw.

כִּֽי־

kî-

הֶחֱלִ֣יק

he·ḥĕ·lîq

אֵלָ֣יו

’ê·lāw

､ בְּעֵינָ֑יו

bə·‘ê·nāw;

in his own eyes ､

לִמְצֹ֖א

lim·ṣō

when he finds out

עֲוֺנ֣וֹ

‘ă·wō·nōw

. לִשְׂנֹֽא׃

liś·nō.

[and] when he hates .

דִּבְרֵי־

diḇ·rê-

פִ֭יו

p̄îw

אָ֣וֶן

’ā·wen

[are] wickedness

– וּמִרְמָ֑ה

ū·mir·māh;

and deceit –

חָדַ֖ל

ḥā·ḏal

､ לְהַשְׂכִּ֣יל

lə·haś·kîl

to be wise ､

. לְהֵיטִֽיב׃

lə·hê·ṭîḇ.

[and] to do good .

אָ֤וֶן ׀

’ā·wen

יַחְשֹׁ֗ב

yaḥ·šōḇ,

עַֽל־

‘al-

on

– מִשְׁכָּ֫ב֥וֹ

miš·kā·ḇōw

יִ֭תְיַצֵּב

yiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ

He sets himself

עַל־

‘al-

in

דֶּ֣רֶךְ

de·reḵ

לֹא־

lō-

[that is] not

– ט֑וֹב

ṭō·wḇ;

good –

רָ֝֗ע

rā‘,

לֹ֣א

lō

not

. יִמְאָֽס׃

yim·’ās.

He does abhor .

､ יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

– בְּהַשָּׁמַ֣יִם

bə·haš·šā·ma·yim

in the heavens –

､ חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ

ḥas·de·ḵā;

Your mercy [is] ､

אֱ֝מֽוּנָתְךָ֗

’ĕ·mū·nā·ṯə·ḵā,

Your faithfulness [reaches]

עַד־

‘aḏ-

to

. שְׁחָקִֽים׃

šə·ḥā·qîm.

the clouds .

צִדְקָֽתְךָ֨ ׀

ṣiḏ·qā·ṯə·ḵā

Your righteousness [is]

– כְּֽהַרְרֵי־

kə·har·rê-

like the mountains –

אֵ֗ל

’êl,

מִ֭שְׁפָּטֶךָ

miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā

Your judgments [are]

. תְּה֣וֹם

tə·hō·wm

a deep .

רַבָּ֑ה

rab·bāh;

אָ֤דָֽם־

’ā·ḏām-

. וּבְהֵמָ֖ה

ū·ḇə·hê·māh

and beast .

תוֹשִׁ֣יעַ

ṯō·wō·šî·a‘

､ יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

מַה־

mah-

יָּקָ֥ר

yā·qār

､ חַסְדְּךָ֗

ḥas·də·ḵā,

[is] Your lovingkindness ､

! אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

וּבְנֵ֥י

ū·ḇə·nê

therefore the sons

אָדָ֑ם

’ā·ḏām;

of men

בְּצֵ֥ל

bə·ṣêl

under the shadow

כְּ֝נָפֶ֗יךָ

kə·nā·p̄e·ḵā,

. יֶחֱסָיֽוּן׃

ye·ḥĕ·sā·yūn.

put their trust .

יִ֭רְוְיֻן

yir·wə·yun

They are abundantly satisfied

מִדֶּ֣שֶׁן

mid·de·šen

with the fullness

– בֵּיתֶ֑ךָ

bê·ṯe·ḵā;

of Your house –

וְנַ֖חַל

wə·na·ḥal

and the river

עֲדָנֶ֣יךָ

‘ă·ḏā·ne·ḵā

of Your pleasures

. תַשְׁקֵֽם׃

ṯaš·qêm.

You give them drink from .

כִּֽי־

kî-

עִ֭מְּךָ

‘im·mə·ḵā

with You

מְק֣וֹר

mə·qō·wr

[is] the fountain

– חַיִּ֑ים

ḥay·yîm;

of life –

בְּ֝אוֹרְךָ֗

bə·’ō·wr·ḵā,

נִרְאֶה־

nir·’eh-

we see

. אֽוֹר׃

’ō·wr.

מְשֹׁ֣ךְ

mə·šōḵ

חַ֭סְדְּךָ

ḥas·də·ḵā

Your lovingkindness

לְיֹדְעֶ֑יךָ

lə·yō·ḏə·‘e·ḵā;

to those who know You

וְ֝צִדְקָֽתְךָ֗

wə·ṣiḏ·qā·ṯə·ḵā,

and Your righteousness

לְיִשְׁרֵי־

lə·yiš·rê-

to the upright in

. לֵֽב׃

lêḇ.

אַל־

’al-

Not

תְּ֭בוֹאֵנִי

tə·ḇō·w·’ê·nî

let come against me

רֶ֣גֶל

re·ḡel

the foot

גַּאֲוָ֑ה

ga·’ă·wāh;

וְיַד־

wə·yaḏ-

and the hand

רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים

rə·šā·‘îm,

of the wicked

אַל־

’al-

not

. תְּנִדֵֽנִי׃

tə·ni·ḏê·nî.

let drive me away .

שָׁ֣ם

šām

– נָ֭פְלוּ

nā·p̄ə·lū

have fallen –

פֹּ֣עֲלֵי

pō·‘ă·lê

אָ֑וֶן

’ā·wen;

､ דֹּ֝ח֗וּ

dō·ḥū,

they have been cast down ､

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and not

יָ֥כְלוּ

yā·ḵə·lū

. קֽוּם׃

qūm.

to rise .
