לִבְנֵי־

כְּאַיָּ֗ל

As the deer
תַּעֲרֹ֥ג
ta·‘ă·rōḡ
עַל־
‘al-
､ אֲפִֽיקֵי־
’ă·p̄î·qê-
the brooks ､
מָ֑יִם
mā·yim;
כֵּ֤ן
kên
so
נַפְשִׁ֨י
nap̄·šî
my soul
תַעֲרֹ֖ג
ṯa·‘ă·rōḡ
אֵלֶ֣יךָ
’ê·le·ḵā
. אֱלֹהִֽים׃

for God ､
– לְאֵ֪ל

for God –
חָ֥י
ḥāy
the living
מָתַ֥י
mā·ṯay
אָב֑וֹא
’ā·ḇō·w;
וְ֝אֵרָאֶ֗ה
wə·’ê·rā·’eh,
and appear
פְּנֵ֣י
pə·nê
؟ אֱלֹהִֽים׃
’ĕ·lō·hîm.

הָֽיְתָה־
hā·yə·ṯāh-
לִּ֬י
lî
to me
דִמְעָתִ֣י
ḏim·‘ā·ṯî
לֶ֭חֶם
le·ḥem
my food
יוֹמָ֣ם
yō·w·mām
､ וָלָ֑יְלָה
wā·lā·yə·lāh;
and night ､
בֶּאֱמֹ֥ר
be·’ĕ·mōr
אֵלַ֥י
’ê·lay
to me
כָּל־
kāl-
הַ֝יּ֗וֹם
hay·yō·wm,
אַיֵּ֥ה
’ay·yêh
where [is]
؟ אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃
’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā.

אֵ֤לֶּה
’êl·leh
אֶזְכְּרָ֨ה ׀
’ez·kə·rāh
וְאֶשְׁפְּכָ֬ה
wə·’eš·pə·ḵāh
and I pour out
עָלַ֨י ׀
‘ā·lay
נַפְשִׁ֗י
nap̄·šî,
my soul
כִּ֤י
kî
אֶֽעֱבֹ֨ר ׀
’e·‘ĕ·ḇōr
I used to go
､ בַּסָּךְ֮
bas·sāḵ
with the multitude ､
אֶדַּדֵּ֗ם
’ed·dad·dêm,
I went with them
עַד־
‘aḏ-
to
בֵּ֥ית
bêṯ
the house
､ אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים
’ĕ·lō·hîm
of God ､
בְּקוֹל־
bə·qō·wl-
with the voice
רִנָּ֥ה
rin·nāh
of joy
､ וְתוֹדָ֗ה
wə·ṯō·w·ḏāh,
and praise ､
הָמ֥וֹן
hā·mō·wn
with a multitude
. חוֹגֵֽג׃
ḥō·w·ḡêḡ.

､ תִּשְׁתּ֬וֹחֲחִ֨י ׀
tiš·tō·w·ḥă·ḥî
؟ נַפְשִׁי֮

my soul ؟
וַתֶּהֱמִ֪י
wat·te·hĕ·mî
עָ֫לָ֥י
‘ā·lāy
הוֹחִ֣ילִי
hō·w·ḥî·lî
､ לֵֽ֭אלֹהִים
lê·lō·hîm
in God ､
כִּי־
kî-
ע֥וֹד
‘ō·wḏ
אוֹדֶ֗נּוּ
’ō·w·ḏen·nū,
יְשׁוּע֥וֹת
yə·šū·‘ō·wṯ
[For] the help
. פָּנָֽיו׃

､ אֱ‍ֽלֹהַ֗י
’ĕlō·hay,
My God ､
עָלַי֮
‘ā·lay
נַפְשִׁ֪י
nap̄·šî
my soul
תִשְׁתּ֫וֹחָ֥ח
ṯiš·tō·w·ḥāḥ
עַל־
‘al-
כֵּ֗ן
kên,
אֶ֭זְכָּרְךָ
’ez·kā·rə·ḵā
I will remember You
מֵאֶ֣רֶץ
mê·’e·reṣ
､ יַרְדֵּ֑ן
yar·dên;
of the Jordan ､
､ וְ֝חֶרְמוֹנִ֗ים
wə·ḥer·mō·w·nîm,
and Hermon ､
מֵהַ֥ר
mê·har
. מִצְעָֽר׃
miṣ·‘ār.

תְּהֽוֹם־
tə·hō·wm-
אֶל־
’el-
תְּה֣וֹם
tə·hō·wm
ק֭וֹרֵא
qō·w·rê
לְק֣וֹל
lə·qō·wl
at the noise
– צִנּוֹרֶ֑יךָ
ṣin·nō·w·re·ḵā;
כָּֽל־
kāl-
and all
מִשְׁבָּרֶ֥יךָ
miš·bā·re·ḵā
וְ֝גַלֶּ֗יךָ
wə·ḡal·le·ḵā,
עָלַ֥י
‘ā·lay
Over me
. עָבָֽרוּ׃
‘ā·ḇā·rū.

､ יוֹמָ֤ם ׀
yō·w·mām
in the daytime ､
יְצַוֶּ֬ה
yə·ṣaw·weh
will command
יְהוָ֨ה ׀
Yah·weh
חַסְדּ֗וֹ
ḥas·dōw,
וּ֭בַלַּיְלָה
ū·ḇal·lay·lāh
and in the night
שירה
šî·rāh
-
[שִׁיר֣וֹ]
šî·rōw
(עִמִּ֑י)
‘im·mî;
with me
תְּ֝פִלָּ֗ה
tə·p̄il·lāh,
לְאֵ֣ל
lə·’êl
to the God
. חַיָּֽי׃

of my life .

I will say

to God
､ סַלְעִי֮

my Rock ､
לָמָ֪ה

שְׁכַ֫חְתָּ֥נִי
šə·ḵaḥ·tā·nî
לָֽמָּה־
lām·māh-
קֹדֵ֥ר
qō·ḏêr
אֵלֵ֗ךְ
’ê·lêḵ,
do I go
בְּלַ֣חַץ
bə·la·ḥaṣ
؟ אוֹיֵֽב׃
’ō·w·yêḇ.
of the enemy ؟

בְּרֶ֤צַח ׀
bə·re·ṣaḥ
[As] with a breaking
､ בְּֽעַצְמוֹתַ֗י
bə·‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯay,
of my bones ､
חֵרְפ֥וּנִי
ḥê·rə·p̄ū·nî
צוֹרְרָ֑י
ṣō·wr·rāy;
בְּאָמְרָ֥ם
bə·’ā·mə·rām
אֵלַ֥י
’ê·lay
to me
כָּל־
kāl-
הַ֝יּ֗וֹם
hay·yō·wm,
אַיֵּ֥ה
’ay·yêh
where [is]
؟ אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃

in God ､

the help
､ פָּ֝נַ֗י
pā·nay,
of my countenance ､

and my God .
