Let God's Enemies Be Scattered!

､ לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ

שִֽׁיר׃

､ יָק֣וּם

yā·qūm

אֱ֭לֹהִים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

､ יָפ֣וּצוּ

yā·p̄ū·ṣū

let be scattered ､

אוֹיְבָ֑יו

’ō·wy·ḇāw;

וְיָנ֥וּסוּ

wə·yā·nū·sū

and let those flee

מְ֝שַׂנְאָ֗יו

mə·śan·’āw,

. מִפָּנָֽיו׃

mip·pā·nāw.

､ כְּהִנְדֹּ֥ף

kə·hin·dōp̄

As is driven away ､

עָשָׁ֗ן

‘ā·šān,

､ תִּ֫נְדֹּ֥ף

tin·dōp̄

[So] drive [them] away ､

כְּהִמֵּ֣ס

kə·him·mês

דּ֭וֹנַג

dō·w·naḡ

מִפְּנֵי־

mip·pə·nê-

､ אֵ֑שׁ

’êš;

the fire ､

יֹאבְד֥וּ

yō·ḇə·ḏū

[So] let perish

רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים

rə·šā·‘îm,

מִפְּנֵ֥י

mip·pə·nê

at the presence

. אֱלֹהִֽים׃

’ĕ·lō·hîm.

of God .

וְֽצַדִּיקִ֗ים

wə·ṣad·dî·qîm,

But the righteous

– יִשְׂמְח֣וּ

yiś·mə·ḥū

let be glad –

יַֽ֭עַלְצוּ

ya·‘al·ṣū

let them rejoice

לִפְנֵ֥י

lip̄·nê

– אֱלֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

God –

וְיָשִׂ֥ישׂוּ

wə·yā·śî·śū

and Yes let them rejoice

. בְשִׂמְחָֽה׃

ḇə·śim·ḥāh.

שִׁ֤ירוּ ׀

šî·rū

､ לֵֽאלֹהִים֮

lê·lō·hîm

to God ､

זַמְּר֪וּ

zam·mə·rū

– שְׁ֫מ֥וֹ

šə·mōw

to His name –

סֹ֡לּוּ

sōl·lū

לָרֹכֵ֣ב

lā·rō·ḵêḇ

בָּ֭עֲרָבוֹת

bā·‘ă·rā·ḇō·wṯ

on the clouds

､ בְּיָ֥הּ

bə·yāh

by YAH ､

שְׁמ֗וֹ

šə·mōw,

וְעִלְז֥וּ

wə·‘il·zū

. לְפָנָֽיו׃

lə·p̄ā·nāw.

אֲבִ֣י

’ă·ḇî

､ יְ֭תוֹמִים

yə·ṯō·w·mîm

of the fatherless ､

וְדַיַּ֣ן

wə·ḏay·yan

､ אַלְמָנ֑וֹת

’al·mā·nō·wṯ;

of widows ､

אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

[Is] God

בִּמְע֥וֹן

bim·‘ō·wn

. קָדְשֽׁוֹ׃

qā·ḏə·šōw.

אֱלֹהִ֤ים ׀

’ĕ·lō·hîm

מ֘וֹשִׁ֤יב

mō·wō·šîḇ

יְחִידִ֨ים ׀

yə·ḥî·ḏîm

– בַּ֗יְתָה

bay·ṯāh,

in families –

מוֹצִ֣יא

mō·w·ṣî

אֲ֭סִירִים

’ă·sî·rîm

､ בַּכּוֹשָׁר֑וֹת

bak·kō·wō·šā·rō·wṯ;

into prosperity ､

אַ֥ךְ

’aḵ

but

ס֝וֹרֲרִ֗ים

sō·w·ră·rîm,

שָׁכְנ֥וּ

šā·ḵə·nū

. צְחִיחָֽה׃

ṣə·ḥî·ḥāh.

in a dry [land] .

､ אֱ‍ֽלֹהִ֗ים

’ĕlō·hîm,

God ､

בְּ֭צֵאתְךָ

bə·ṣê·ṯə·ḵā

when You went out

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

､ עַמֶּ֑ךָ

‘am·me·ḵā;

Your people ､

בְּצַעְדְּךָ֖

bə·ṣa‘·də·ḵā

when You marched

– בִֽישִׁימ֣וֹן

ḇî·šî·mō·wn

through the wilderness –

. סֶֽלָה׃

se·lāh.

אֶ֤רֶץ

’e·reṣ

､ רָעָ֨שָׁה ׀

rā·‘ā·šāh

אַף־

’ap̄-

שָׁמַ֣יִם

šā·ma·yim

נָטְפוּ֮

nā·ṭə·p̄ū

מִפְּנֵ֪י

mip·pə·nê

at the presence

– אֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

of God –

זֶ֥ה

zeh

סִינַ֑י

sî·nay;

Sinai [was moved]

מִפְּנֵ֥י

mip·pə·nê

at the presence

､ אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God ､

אֱלֹהֵ֥י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

､ גֶּ֣שֶׁם

ge·šem

A rain ､

נְ֭דָבוֹת

nə·ḏā·ḇō·wṯ

תָּנִ֣יף

tā·nîp̄

､ אֱלֹהִ֑ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm;

God ､

､ נַחֲלָתְךָ֥

na·ḥă·lā·ṯə·ḵā

Your inheritance ､

וְ֝נִלְאָ֗ה

wə·nil·’āh,

and when it was weary

אַתָּ֥ה

’at·tāh

. כֽוֹנַנְתָּֽהּ׃

ḵō·w·nan·tāh.

Whereby confirmed .

חַיָּתְךָ֥

ḥay·yā·ṯə·ḵā

Your congregation

יָֽשְׁבוּ־

yā·šə·ḇū-

בָ֑הּ

ḇāh;

in it

תָּ֤כִ֥ין

tā·ḵîn

בְּטוֹבָתְךָ֖

bə·ṭō·w·ḇā·ṯə·ḵā

from Your goodness

. לֶעָנִ֣י

le·‘ā·nî

for the poor .

､ אֱלֹהִֽים׃

’ĕ·lō·hîm.

God ､

אֲדֹנָ֥י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

יִתֶּן־

yit·ten-

– אֹ֑מֶר

’ō·mer;

הַֽ֝מְבַשְּׂר֗וֹת

ham·ḇaś·śə·rō·wṯ,

those who proclaimed [it]

צָבָ֥א

ṣā·ḇā

. רָֽב׃

rāḇ.

of Great [was] .

מַלְכֵ֣י

mal·ḵê

צְ֭בָאוֹת

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ

יִדֹּד֣וּן

yid·dō·ḏūn

､ יִדֹּד֑וּן

yid·dō·ḏūn;

וּנְוַת

ū·nə·waṯ

and she who remains at

בַּ֝֗יִת

ba·yiṯ,

תְּחַלֵּ֥ק

tə·ḥal·lêq

. שָׁלָֽל׃

šā·lāl.

the spoil .

אִֽם־

’im-

תִּשְׁכְּבוּן֮

tiš·kə·ḇūn

בֵּ֪ין

bên

､ שְׁפַ֫תָּ֥יִם

šə·p̄at·tā·yim

the sheepfolds ､

כַּנְפֵ֣י

kan·p̄ê

[You will be] like the wings

י֭וֹנָה

yō·w·nāh

of a dove

נֶחְפָּ֣ה

neḥ·pāh

､ בַכֶּ֑סֶף

ḇak·ke·sep̄;

with silver ､

וְ֝אֶבְרוֹתֶ֗יהָ

wə·’eḇ·rō·w·ṯe·hā,

and her feathers

בִּֽירַקְרַ֥ק

bî·raq·raq

. חָרֽוּץ׃

ḥā·rūṣ.

בְּפָ֘רֵ֤שׂ

bə·p̄ā·rêś

שַׁדַּ֓י

šad·day

מְלָ֘כִ֤ים

mə·lā·ḵîm

בָּ֗הּ

bāh,

in it

תַּשְׁלֵ֥ג

taš·lêḡ

was [white] as snow

. בְּצַלְמֽוֹן׃

bə·ṣal·mō·wn.

הַר־

har-

אֱ֭לֹהִים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

of God

הַר־

har-

[is] the mountain

– בָּשָׁ֑ן

bā·šān;

of Bashan –

הַ֥ר

har

a mountain [of]

גַּ֝בְנֻנִּ֗ים

gaḇ·nun·nîm,

הַר־

har-

[is] the mountain

. בָּשָֽׁן׃

bā·šān.

לָ֤מָּה ׀

lām·māh

תְּֽרַצְּדוּן֮

tə·raṣ·ṣə·ḏūn

do you fume with envy

؟ הָרִ֪ים

hā·rîm

you mountains ؟

גַּבְנֻ֫נִּ֥ים

gaḇ·nun·nîm

of [many] peaks

הָהָ֗ר

hā·hār,

[This is] the mountain

חָמַ֣ד

ḥā·maḏ

[which] desires

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

לְשִׁבְתּ֑וֹ

lə·šiḇ·tōw;

to dwell in

､ אַף־

’ap̄-

Yes ､

יְ֝הוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

יִשְׁכֹּ֥ן

yiš·kōn

will dwell [in it]

. לָנֶֽצַח׃

lā·ne·ṣaḥ.

רֶ֤כֶב

re·ḵeḇ

אֱלֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

of God

､ רִבֹּתַ֣יִם

rib·bō·ṯa·yim

[are] twenty thousand ､

אַלְפֵ֣י

’al·p̄ê

[Even] thousands

– שִׁנְאָ֑ן

šin·’ān;

of thousands –

אֲדֹנָ֥י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord [is]

בָ֝֗ם

ḇām,

､ סִינַ֥י

sî·nay

[as in] Sinai ､

. בַּקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃

baq·qō·ḏeš.

in the Holy [Place] .

עָ֘לִ֤יתָ

‘ā·lî·ṯā

You have ascended

､ לַמָּר֨וֹם ׀

lam·mā·rō·wm

on high ､

שָׁ֘בִ֤יתָ

šā·ḇî·ṯā

You have led captive

– שֶּׁ֗בִי

še·ḇî,

לָקַ֣חְתָּ

lā·qaḥ·tā

You have received

מַ֭תָּנוֹת

mat·tā·nō·wṯ

– בָּאָדָ֑ם

bā·’ā·ḏām;

､ וְאַ֥ף

wə·’ap̄

and Even [from] ､

ס֝וֹרְרִ֗ים

sō·wr·rîm,

לִשְׁכֹּ֤ן ׀

liš·kōn

that might dwell [there]

יָ֬הּ

yāh

. אֱלֹהִֽים׃

’ĕ·lō·hîm.

בָּ֤ר֣וּךְ

bā·rūḵ

､ אֲדֹנָי֮

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord ､

י֤וֹם ׀

yō·wm

י֥וֹם

yō·wm

by day

יַֽעֲמָס־

ya·‘ă·mās-

[Who] loads [with benefits]

לָ֗נוּ

lā·nū,

us

הָ֘אֵ֤ל

hā·’êl

the God

. יְֽשׁוּעָתֵ֬נוּ

yə·šū·‘ā·ṯê·nū

of our salvation .

. סֶֽלָה׃

se·lāh.

הָ֤אֵ֣ל ׀

hā·’êl

God [is]

לָנוּ֮

lā·nū

אֵ֤ל

’êl

the God

– לְֽמוֹשָׁ֫ע֥וֹת

lə·mō·wō·šā·‘ō·wṯ

of salvation –

וְלֵיהוִ֥ה

Yah·weh

and to GOD

אֲדֹנָ֑י

’ă·ḏō·nāy;

the Lord

לַ֝מָּ֗וֶת

lam·mā·weṯ,

. תּוֹצָאֽוֹת׃

tō·w·ṣā·’ō·wṯ.

[belong] escapes .

אַךְ־

’aḵ-

But

אֱלֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

יִמְחַץ֮

yim·ḥaṣ

will wound

רֹ֤אשׁ

rōš

the head

､ אֹ֫יְבָ֥יו

’ō·yə·ḇāw

of His enemies ､

קָדְקֹ֥ד

qā·ḏə·qōḏ

שֵׂעָ֑ר

śê·‘ār;

מִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ךְ

miṯ·hal·lêḵ,

the one who still goes on

. בַּאֲשָׁמָֽיו׃

ba·’ă·šā·māw.

in His trespasses .

､ אָמַ֣ר

’ā·mar

Said ､

אֲ֭דֹנָי

’ă·ḏō·nāy

the Lord

מִבָּשָׁ֣ן

mib·bā·šān

אָשִׁ֑יב

’ā·šîḇ;

I will bring back

אָ֝שִׁ֗יב

’ā·šîḇ,

I will bring [them] back

מִֽמְּצֻל֥וֹת

mim·mə·ṣu·lō·wṯ

from the depths

– יָֽם׃

yām.

of the sea –

לְמַ֤עַן ׀

lə·ma·‘an

תִּֽמְחַ֥ץ

tim·ḥaṣ

may crush [them]

רַגְלְךָ֗

raḡ·lə·ḵā,

בְּ֫דָ֥ם

bə·ḏām

לְשׁ֥וֹן

lə·šō·wn

and the tongues

כְּלָבֶ֑יךָ

kə·lā·ḇe·ḵā;

מֵאֹיְבִ֥ים

mê·’ō·yə·ḇîm

from [your] enemies

､ מִנֵּֽהוּ׃

min·nê·hū.

[may have] their portion ､

רָא֣וּ

rā·’ū

､ הֲלִיכוֹתֶ֣יךָ

hă·lî·ḵō·w·ṯe·ḵā

Your procession ､

– אֱלֹהִ֑ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm;

God –

הֲלִ֘יכ֤וֹת

hă·lî·ḵō·wṯ

､ אֵלִ֖י

’ê·lî

of my God ､

､ מַלְכִּ֣י

mal·kî

my King ､

. בַקֹּֽדֶשׁ׃

ḇaq·qō·ḏeš.

into the sanctuary .

､ קִדְּמ֣וּ

qid·də·mū

Went before ､

שָׁ֭רִים

rîm

– אַחַ֣ר

’a·ḥar

[followed] after –

נֹגְנִ֑ים

nō·ḡə·nîm;

the players on instruments

בְּת֥וֹךְ

bə·ṯō·wḵ

Among [them were]

עֲ֝לָמ֗וֹת

‘ă·lā·mō·wṯ,

. תּוֹפֵפֽוֹת׃

tō·w·p̄ê·p̄ō·wṯ.

playing timbrels .

､ בְּֽ֭מַקְהֵלוֹת

bə·maq·hê·lō·wṯ

In the congregations ､

בָּרְכ֣וּ

bā·rə·ḵū

אֱלֹהִ֑ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm;

､ יְ֝הוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

מִמְּק֥וֹר

mim·mə·qō·wr

from the fountain

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

שָׁ֤ם

There [is]

בִּנְיָמִ֨ן ׀

bin·yā·min

צָעִ֡יר

ṣā·‘îr

､ רֹדֵ֗ם

rō·ḏêm,

their leader ､

שָׂרֵ֣י

śā·rê

יְ֭הוּדָה

yə·hū·ḏāh

､ רִגְמָתָ֑ם

riḡ·mā·ṯām;

[and] their company ､

שָׂרֵ֥י

śā·rê

､ זְ֝בֻל֗וּן

zə·ḇu·lūn,

of Zebulun ､

שָׂרֵ֥י

śā·rê

[and] the princes

. נַפְתָּלִֽי׃

nap̄·tā·lî.

צִוָּ֥ה

ṣiw·wāh

אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

– עֻ֫זֶּ֥ךָ

‘uz·ze·ḵā

your strength –

､ עוּזָּ֥ה

‘ūz·zāh

､ אֱלֹהִ֑ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm;

God ､

ז֝֗וּ

zū,

פָּעַ֥לְתָּ

pā·‘al·tā

. לָּֽנוּ׃

lā·nū.

for us .

מֵֽ֭הֵיכָלֶךָ

mê·hê·ḵā·le·ḵā

Because of Your temple

עַל־

‘al-

at

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

yə·rū·šā·lim;

לְךָ֤

lə·ḵā

to You

יוֹבִ֖ילוּ

yō·w·ḇî·lū

will bring

מְלָכִ֣ים

mə·lā·ḵîm

. שָֽׁי׃

šāy.

גְּעַ֨ר

gə·‘ar

חַיַּ֪ת

ḥay·yaṯ

､ קָנֶ֡ה

qā·neh

of the reeds ､

עֲדַ֤ת

‘ă·ḏaṯ

the herd

､ אַבִּירִ֨ים ׀

’ab·bî·rîm

of mighty [bulls] ､

בְּעֶגְלֵ֬י

bə·‘eḡ·lê

with the calves

､ עַמִּ֗ים

‘am·mîm,

of the peoples ､

מִתְרַפֵּ֥ס

miṯ·rap·pês

[Till everyone] submits himself

בְּרַצֵּי־

bə·raṣ·ṣê-

– כָ֑סֶף

ḵā·sep̄;

of silver –

בִּזַּ֥ר

biz·zar

עַ֝מִּ֗ים

‘am·mîm,

קְרָב֥וֹת

qə·rā·ḇō·wṯ

. יֶחְפָּֽצוּ׃

yeḥ·pā·ṣū.

[who] delight in .

יֶאֱתָ֣יוּ

ye·’ĕ·ṯā·yū

Will come

חַ֭שְׁמַנִּים

ḥaš·man·nîm

מִנִּ֣י

min·nî

– מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of Egypt –

כּ֥וּשׁ

kūš

תָּרִ֥יץ

tā·rîṣ

will quickly stretch out

יָ֝דָ֗יו

yā·ḏāw,

. לֵאלֹהִֽים׃

lê·lō·hîm.

to God .

מַמְלְכ֣וֹת

mam·lə·ḵō·wṯ

– הָ֭אָרֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ

of the earth –

שִׁ֣ירוּ

šî·rū

､ לֵאלֹהִ֑ים

lê·lō·hîm;

to God ､

זַמְּר֖וּ

zam·mə·rū

Oh sing praises

– אֲדֹנָ֣י

’ă·ḏō·nāy

to the Lord –

. סֶֽלָה׃

se·lāh.

לָ֭רֹכֵב

lā·rō·ḵêḇ

To Him who rides

בִּשְׁמֵ֣י

biš·mê

on the heavens

､ שְׁמֵי־

šə·mê-

of heaven ､

– קֶ֑דֶם

qe·ḏem;

[which were] of old –

､ הֵ֥ן

hên

יִתֵּ֥ן

yit·tên

､ בְּ֝קוֹלוֹ

bə·qō·w·lōw

ק֣וֹל

qō·wl

. עֹֽז׃

‘ōz.

תְּנ֥וּ

tə·nū

עֹ֗ז

‘ōz,

– לֵֽאלֹ֫הִ֥ים

lê·lō·hîm

to God –

עַֽל־

‘al-

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל

yiś·rā·’êl

גַּאֲוָת֑וֹ

ga·’ă·wā·ṯōw;

His excellence [is]

וְ֝עֻזּ֗וֹ

wə·‘uz·zōw,

and His strength [is]

. בַּשְּׁחָקִֽים׃

baš·šə·ḥā·qîm.

in the clouds .

נ֤וֹרָ֥א

nō·w·rā

[You are] more awesome

､ אֱלֹהִ֗ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm,

God ､

. מִֽמִּקְדָּ֫שֶׁ֥יךָ

mim·miq·dā·še·ḵā

than Your holy places .

אֵ֤ל

’êl

The God

יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

ה֤וּא

hū

[is] He

נֹתֵ֨ן ׀

עֹ֖ז

‘ōz

וְתַעֲצֻמ֥וֹת

to [His] people

בָּר֥וּךְ
