the man
. הָאֱלֹ֫הִ֥ים
hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm
of God .
､ אֲ‍ֽדֹנָ֗י
’ăḏō·nāy,
Yahweh ､
מָע֣וֹן
mā·‘ō·wn
אַ֭תָּה
’at·tāh
הָיִ֥יתָ
hā·yî·ṯā
לָּ֗נוּ
lā·nū,
בְּדֹ֣ר
bə·ḏōr
in
. וָדֹֽר׃
wā·ḏōr.

בְּטֶ֤רֶם ׀
bə·ṭe·rem
הָ֘רִ֤ים
hā·rîm
､ יֻלָּ֗דוּ
yul·lā·ḏū,
וַתְּח֣וֹלֵֽל
wat·tə·ḥō·w·lêl
אֶ֣רֶץ
’e·reṣ
the earth
､ וְתֵבֵ֑ל
wə·ṯê·ḇêl;
and the world ､
וּֽמֵעוֹלָ֥ם
ū·mê·‘ō·w·lām
עַד־
‘aḏ-
to
､ ע֝וֹלָ֗ם
‘ō·w·lām,
אַתָּ֥ה
’at·tāh
. אֵֽל׃
’êl.
God .

תָּשֵׁ֣ב
tā·šêḇ
אֱ֭נוֹשׁ
’ĕ·nō·wōš
עַד־
‘aḏ-
to
– דַּכָּ֑א
dak·kā;
､ וַ֝תֹּ֗אמֶר
wat·tō·mer,
and say ､
､ שׁ֣וּבוּ
šū·ḇū
Return ､
בְנֵי־
ḇə·nê-
. אָדָֽם׃
’ā·ḏām.
of men .

כִּ֤י
kî
אֶ֪לֶף
’e·lep̄
שָׁנִ֡ים
šā·nîm
בְּֽעֵינֶ֗יךָ
bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā,
כְּי֣וֹם
kə·yō·wm
[Are] like the day
אֶ֭תְמוֹל
’eṯ·mō·wl
כִּ֣י
kî
､ יַעֲבֹ֑ר
ya·‘ă·ḇōr;
it is past ､
וְאַשְׁמוּרָ֥ה
wə·’aš·mū·rāh
and [like] a watch
. בַלָּֽיְלָה׃
ḇal·lā·yə·lāh.
in the night .

– זְ֭רַמְתָּם
zə·ram·tām
– שֵׁנָ֣ה
šê·nāh
[like] a sleep –
יִהְי֑וּ
yih·yū;
בַּ֝בֹּ֗קֶר
bab·bō·qer,
in the morning
כֶּחָצִ֥יר
ke·ḥā·ṣîr
. יַחֲלֹֽף׃
ya·ḥă·lōp̄.
[which] grows up .

בַּ֭בֹּקֶר
bab·bō·qer
In the morning
､ יָצִ֣יץ
yā·ṣîṣ
it flourishes ､
– וְחָלָ֑ף
wə·ḥā·lāp̄;
and grows up –
לָ֝עֶ֗רֶב
lā·‘e·reḇ,
in the evening
､ יְמוֹלֵ֥ל
yə·mō·w·lêl
it is cut down ､
. וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃
wə·yā·ḇêš.
and withers .

כִּֽי־
kî-
כָלִ֥ינוּ
ḵā·lî·nū
､ בְאַפֶּ֑ךָ
ḇə·’ap·pe·ḵā;
by Your anger ､
וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ֥
ū·ḇa·ḥă·mā·ṯə·ḵā
and by Your wrath
. נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃
niḇ·hā·lə·nū.

(עֲוֺנֹתֵ֣ינוּ)
‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·nū
לְנֶגְדֶּ֑ךָ
lə·neḡ·de·ḵā;
עֲ֝לֻמֵ֗נוּ
‘ă·lu·mê·nū,
לִמְא֥וֹר
lim·’ō·wr
in the light
. פָּנֶֽיךָ׃
pā·ne·ḵā.

כִּ֣י
kî
כָל־
ḵāl
יָ֭מֵינוּ
yā·mê·nū
פָּנ֣וּ
pā·nū
– בְעֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ
ḇə·‘eḇ·rā·ṯe·ḵā;
in Your wrath –
כִּלִּ֖ינוּ
kil·lî·nū
שָׁנֵ֣ינוּ
šā·nê·nū
כְמוֹ־
ḵə·mōw-
. הֶֽגֶה׃
he·ḡeh.
a sigh .

יְמֵֽי־
yə·mê-
The days
שְׁנוֹתֵ֨ינוּ
šə·nō·w·ṯê·nū
בָהֶ֥ם
ḇā·hem
in
שִׁבְעִ֪ים
šiḇ·‘îm
– שָׁנָ֡ה
šā·nāh
years –
וְאִ֤ם
wə·’im
and if
בִּגְבוּרֹ֨ת ׀
biḡ·ḇū·rōṯ
שְׁמ֘וֹנִ֤ים
šə·mō·w·nîm
､ שָׁנָ֗ה
šā·nāh,
years ､
וְ֭רָהְבָּם
wə·rā·hə·bām
עָמָ֣ל
‘ā·māl
[is] only labor
– וָאָ֑וֶן
wā·’ā·wen;
and sorrow –
כִּי־
kî-
､ גָ֥ז
ḡāz
it is cut off ､
חִ֝֗ישׁ
ḥîš,
. וַנָּעֻֽפָה׃
wan·nā·‘u·p̄āh.
and we fly away .

מִֽי־
mî-
י֭וֹדֵעַ
yō·w·ḏê·a‘
עֹ֣ז
‘ōz
the power
؟ אַפֶּ֑ךָ
’ap·pe·ḵā;
of Your anger ؟
､ וּ֝כְיִרְאָתְךָ֗
ū·ḵə·yir·’ā·ṯə·ḵā,
for as the fear of You ､
. עֶבְרָתֶֽךָ׃
‘eḇ·rā·ṯe·ḵā.
[so is] Your wrath .

לִמְנ֣וֹת
lim·nō·wṯ
､ יָ֭מֵינוּ
yā·mê·nū
our days ､
כֵּ֣ן
kên
so
הוֹדַ֑ע
hō·w·ḏa‘;
teach [us]
וְ֝נָבִ֗א
wə·nā·ḇi,
לְבַ֣ב
lə·ḇaḇ
. חָכְמָֽה׃
ḥāḵ·māh
of wisdom .

､ שׁוּבָ֣ה
šū·ḇāh
Return ､
､ יְ֭הוָה
Yah·weh
Yahweh ､
עַד־
‘aḏ-
؟ מָתָ֑י
mā·ṯāy;
how ؟
וְ֝הִנָּחֵ֗ם
wə·hin·nā·ḥêm,
עַל־
‘al-
on
. עֲבָדֶֽיךָ׃
‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā.

שַׂבְּעֵ֣נוּ
śab·bə·‘ê·nū
Oh satisfy us
בַבֹּ֣קֶר
ḇab·bō·qer
with early
– חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ
ḥas·de·ḵā;
וּֽנְרַנְּנָ֥ה
ū·nə·ran·nə·nāh
וְ֝נִשְׂמְחָ֗ה
wə·niś·mə·ḥāh,
and be glad
בְּכָל־
bə·ḵāl
. יָמֵֽינוּ׃
yā·mê·nū.

שַׂ֭מְּחֵנוּ
mə·ḥê·nū
כִּימ֣וֹת
kî·mō·wṯ
עִנִּיתָ֑נוּ
‘in·nî·ṯā·nū;
שְׁ֝נ֗וֹת
nō·wṯ,
the years
רָאִ֥ינוּ
rā·’î·nū
[in which] we have seen
. רָעָֽה׃
rā·‘āh.

יֵרָאֶ֣ה
yê·rā·’eh
אֶל־
’el-
to
､ עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ
‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā
פָעֳלֶ֑ךָ
p̄ā·‘o·le·ḵā;
וַ֝הֲדָרְךָ֗
wa·hă·ḏā·rə·ḵā,
עַל־
‘al-
to
. בְּנֵיהֶֽם׃
bə·nê·hem.
17
וִיהִ֤י ׀
wî·hî
And let be
נֹ֤עַם
nō·‘am
the beauty
אֲדֹנָ֥י
’ă·ḏō·nāy
אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ
’ĕ·lō·hê·nū,
עָ֫לֵ֥ינוּ
‘ā·lê·nū
upon us
וּמַעֲשֵׂ֣ה
ū·ma·‘ă·śêh
and the work
יָ֭דֵינוּ
yā·ḏê·nū
כּוֹנְנָ֥ה
kō·wn·nāh
עָלֵ֑ינוּ
‘ā·lê·nū;
for us
וּֽמַעֲשֵׂ֥ה
ū·ma·‘ă·śêh
and Yes the work
יָ֝דֵ֗ינוּ
yā·ḏê·nū,
. כּוֹנְנֵֽהוּ׃
kō·wn·nê·hū.
