'My Fortress' in the Bible
He said:“The Lord is my rock and my fortress [on the mountain] and my rescuer;
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and the One who rescues me;My God, my rock and strength in whom I trust and take refuge;My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower—my stronghold.
Yes, You are my rock and my fortress;For Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
To You, O [God] my strength, I will sing praises;For God is my stronghold [my refuge, my protector, my high tower], the God who shows me [steadfast] lovingkindness.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened.
He only is my rock and my salvation;My fortress and my defense, I will not be shaken or discouraged.
Be to me a rock of refuge and a sheltering stronghold to which I may continually come;You have given the commandment to save me,For You are my rock and my fortress.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”
My [steadfast] lovingkindness and my fortress,My high tower and my rescuer,My shield and He in whom I take refuge,Who subdues my people under me.
