⁴⁶ And they come to Jericho; and as he was going out of Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the wayside. ⁴⁷ And hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, Son of David, Jesus, have pity on me! ⁴⁸ And many sharply bade him be silent; but he cried out the more, Son of David, have pity on me!

⁴⁹ And Jesus stopped, and said, Call him. And they call the blind man, saying to him, Be of good courage, rise, he calleth thee. ⁵⁰ And throwing off his garment, he leaped up, and came to Jesus.

⁵¹ And Jesus answering said to him, What dost thou wish me to do for thee? The blind man said to him, My master, to restore my sight.

⁵² And Jesus said to him, Go; thy faith hath saved thee. And he immediately received his sight, and followed him on the road.

³⁵ And it came to pass, as he drew near to Jericho, that a certain blind man was sitting by the wayside begging. ³⁶ And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what this meant. ³⁷ And they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

³⁸ And he cried out, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me! ³⁹ And they who went before sharply bade him hold his peace. But he cried out the more, Son of David, have pity on me!

⁴⁰ And Jesus stopped, and ordered him to be brought to him. And when he had come near, he asked him, ⁴¹ What dost thou wish me to do for thee? And he said, Lord, to restore my sight.

⁴² And Jesus said to him, Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee. ⁴³ And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, giving glory to God; and all the people on seeing it gave praise to God.
