Mark 10:46-52 - A Blind Man Healed At Jericho

Mark 10:46-52

46 And they come to Jericho; and as he was going out of Jericho with his disciples and a great multitude, the son of Timaeus, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, was sitting by the wayside. 47 And hearing that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he began to cry out and say, Son of David, Jesus, have pity on me! 48 And many sharply bade him be silent; but he cried out the more, Son of David, have pity on me!

49 And Jesus stopped, and said, Call him. And they call the blind man, saying to him, Be of good courage, rise, he calleth thee. 50 And throwing off his garment, he leaped up, and came to Jesus.

51 And Jesus answering said to him, What dost thou wish me to do for thee? The blind man said to him, My master, to restore my sight.

52 And Jesus said to him, Go; thy faith hath saved thee. And he immediately received his sight, and followed him on the road.

Luke 18:35-43

35 And it came to pass, as he drew near to Jericho, that a certain blind man was sitting by the wayside begging. 36 And hearing a multitude passing by, he asked what this meant. 37 And they told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.

38 And he cried out, saying, Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me! 39 And they who went before sharply bade him hold his peace. But he cried out the more, Son of David, have pity on me!

40 And Jesus stopped, and ordered him to be brought to him. And when he had come near, he asked him, 41 What dost thou wish me to do for thee? And he said, Lord, to restore my sight.

42 And Jesus said to him, Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee. 43 And immediately he received his sight, and followed him, giving glory to God; and all the people on seeing it gave praise to God.
