Matthew 8:1-4 - A Leper Cleansed

¹ When he had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him. ² And lo! there came a leper and bowed down before him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.

³ And he put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. ⁴ And Jesus saith to him, See thou tell no one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

⁴⁰ And there cometh a leper to him beseeching him, and kneeling down, saying to him, If thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.

⁴¹ And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith, I will; be thou cleansed. ⁴² And immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed. ⁴³ And sternly charging him, he immediately sent him away, ⁴⁴ saying to him, See that thou say nothing to any one; but go, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them. ⁴⁵ But he went away, and began to publish it constantly, and to spread the matter abroad, so that Jesus could no more enter a city openly, but was without in desert places; and they came to him from every quarter.

¹² And it came to pass, when he was in one of the cities, lo! a man full of leprosy; and seeing Jesus, he fell on his face, and besought him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst cleanse me.

¹³ And he put forth his hand and touched him, saying, I will; be thou cleansed. And immediately the leprosy left him. ¹⁴ And he charged him to tell no one: but go, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.

¹⁵ But so much the more went abroad the report concerning him; and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed of their infirmities. ¹⁶ But he was wont to withdraw to desert places, and pray.
