Matthew 16:5-12 - Beware The Leaven Of The Pharisees And Sadducees

⁵ When the disciples reached the opposite side, they found they had forgotten to bring any bread.

⁶ Jesus said to them, "See and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."

⁷ They argued among themselves, "But we have not brought any bread!"

⁸ When Jesus noted this he said, "How little trust you have in me! Why all this talk, because you have brought no bread? ⁹ Do you not understand even yet? Do you not remember the five loaves of the five thousand and how many baskets you took up? ¹⁰ And the seven loaves of the four thousand and how many large baskets you took up? ¹¹ Why do you not see that I was not speaking to you about bread? No, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees." ¹² Then they realized that what he told them to beware of was not leaven but the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
