6 And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Moserah, where Aaron died and where he was buried; and Eleazar his son became priest in his stead. 7 And from thence they departed unto Gudgodah: and from Gudgodah to Jotbathah, a land of rivers of water.

8 And the same season the LORD separated the tribe of Levi to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD and to stand before the LORD, and to minister unto him and to bless in his name unto this day. 9 Wherefore the Levites have no part nor inheritance with their brethren. 10 And I tarried in the mount, even as at the first time forty days and forty nights, and the LORD hearkened unto me at that time also, so that the LORD would not destroy thee. 11 And the LORD said unto me, "Up, and go forth in the journey before the people and let them go in and conquer the land which I sware unto their fathers to give unto them.'
