Matthew 22:41-46 - David's Son And Lord
41 Now while the pharisees were thus gathered together, Jesus asked them, 42 saying, What think ye of the Messiah? whose son is He? They say unto Him, David's.
43 He saith unto them, How then does David by inspiration call Him Lord,
44 saying, The Lord said unto my Lord, "Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool?"
45 therefore if David call Him Lord, how is He his son? 46 And no one was able to answer Him a word, nor did any dare, from that day, to ask Him any more such questions.
35 And Jesus spake and said, as He was teaching in the temple, How do the scribes say, that the Christ is the son of David? 36 for David himself said by the holy Spirit, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
37 So that David himself calleth Him Lord: how then is He his son? And many of the people heard Him with pleasure.
41 And He said unto them, How do they say, that Christ is the son of David? 42 when David himself saith in the book of Psalms, "The Lord said unto my Lord, 43 Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool."
44 David therefore calleth Him Lord, and how is He then his son?
