Matthew 10:26-33 - Fear God Rather Than People

²⁶ Fear them not, therefore, for there is nothing concealed that shall not be revealed, nor hid that shall not be known. ²⁷ What I tell you in darkness, speak in the light, and what you hear in the ear, preach on the house-tops. ²⁸ And fear not those who kill the body and are not able to kill the soul; but rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion [1.5 mills]? and one of them cannot fall to the ground without your Father. ³⁰ Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. ³¹ Fear not, therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.

³² Every one, therefore, who shall confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father in heaven; ³³ and whoever denies me before men, him will I also deny before my Father in heaven.

⁴ And I tell you, my friends, fear not those that kill the body, and after this have [power] to do nothing more. ⁵ But I will show you whom to fear; Fear him, who after killing has power to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, Fear him. ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two assarions [3 cents], and one of them is not forgotten before God? ⁷ But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore, for you are of more value than many sparrows.
