Romans 15:4-13 - God Gives Us Unity
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through perseverance and the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope. 5 May the God of patience and encouragement grant you to live in harmony with one another, according to Christ Jesus, 6 that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, welcome one another, just as Christ also welcomed you, to the glory of God. 8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the circumcised to show God's truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs, 9 and in order that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy. As it is written: "Therefore I will praise you among the Gentiles, and sing to your name";
and again it says: "Rejoice, O Gentiles, with his people!" 11 and again, "Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles, and praise him, all you peoples";
And again, Isaiah says: "There shall be a root of Jesse; and he who shall rise to rule over the Gentiles, in him the Gentiles shall hope."
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
