Matthew 27:27-31 - Jesus Is Mocked
27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governors palace, and gathered to him the whole band. 28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. 29 And having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on his head, and a reed in his right hand; and bowing the knee before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, king of the Jews! 30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed and struck him on the head. 31 And after they had made sport of him, they took off the robe from him, and put on him his own garments, and led him away to crucify him.
16 And the soldiers led him away into the court, which is the Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 17 And they clothe him with purple, and having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on him. 18 And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews! 19 And they struck him on the head with a reed, and spit upon him, and kneeling down, did him homage. 20 And after they had made sport of him, they stripped him of the purple robe, and put his own garments on him. And they lead him out to crucify him.
