John 13:21-30 - Jesus Predicts Judas' Betrayal

21 Having said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Truly, truly do I say to you, that one of you will betray me.

22 The disciples therefore looked at one another, doubting of whom he spoke. 23 There was reclining on Jesus bosom one of his disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 To him therefore Simon Peter maketh a sign, and saith to him, Tell who it is of whom he is speaking. 25 He, therefore, leaning back on the breast of Jesus, saith to him, Lord, who is it?

26 Jesus answereth, It is he for whom I shall dip the morsel and give it to him. Having therefore dipped the morsel, he taketh and giveth it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. 27 And after the morsel, Satan entered into him. Jesus therefore saith to him, What thou doest, do quickly.

28 Now no one at the table knew for what intent he said this to him. 29 For some thought, because Judas kept the purse, that Jesus said to him, Buy what we need for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor. 30 He then, having received the morsel, went out immediately; and it was night.
