But now I go to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow hath filled your hearts.

But if any one hath caused grief, he hath caused it not to me alone, but in a measure, not to be too severe on him, to all of you.

Truly, truly do I say to you, that ye will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; ye will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come; but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, through joy that a man is born into the world. So ye also now have sorrow; but I shall see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one taketh from you.
