John 16:5-15 - Jesus' Departure And The Coming Of The Holy Spirit

5 And now I go to Him Who sent Me; and no one of you asks Me, 'Whither goest Thou?' 6 But, because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 But I tell you the truth: it is expedient for you that I go away; for, if I do not go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but, if I go, I will send Him to you, 8 And, having come, He will convict the world respecting sin, and righteousness, and judgment: 9 respecting sin, because they believe not on Me; 10 respecting righteousness, because I go to the Father, and ye no longer behold Me; 11 and respecting judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.

12 "I have yet many things to say to you; but ye are not able to hear them now. 13 But, when He, the Spirit of truth, shall come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak from Himself; but whatsoever He heareth He will speak; and He will declare to you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me; because He will take of Mine, and will declare it to you. 15 All things whatsoever the Father hath are Mine; on this account, I said, that He taketh of Mine, and will declare it to you.
