Mark 2:13-17 - Levi Called To Follow Jesus

Mark 2:13-17

13 And he went forth again to the lake; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them. 14 And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customhouse; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

15 And it happened that he was reclining at table in his house; and many publicans and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and scribes of the Pharisees were also following him. 16 And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

17 And Jesus hearing it, saith to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. I came not to call righteous men, but sinners.

Luke 5:27-32

27 And after these things he went out, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the customhouse; and he said to him, Follow me. 28 And leaving everything, he arose and followed him.

29 And Levi made a great feast for him at his house, and there was a great company of publicans and others, who were reclining at table with them. 30 And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?

31 And Jesus answering said to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. 32 I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.
