Mark 2:13-17 - Levi Called To Follow Jesus

¹³ And he went forth again to the lake; and all the multitude came to him, and he taught them. ¹⁴ And passing along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the customhouse; and he saith to him, Follow me. And he arose and followed him.

¹⁵ And it happened that he was reclining at table in his house; and many publicans and sinners were reclining with Jesus and his disciples; for there were many, and scribes of the Pharisees were also following him. ¹⁶ And when they saw that he was eating with the publicans and sinners, they said to his disciples, Doth he eat and drink with publicans and sinners?

¹⁷ And Jesus hearing it, saith to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. I came not to call righteous men, but sinners.

²⁷ And after these things he went out, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the customhouse; and he said to him, Follow me. ²⁸ And leaving everything, he arose and followed him.

²⁹ And Levi made a great feast for him at his house, and there was a great company of publicans and others, who were reclining at table with them. ³⁰ And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, Why do ye eat and drink with the publicans and sinners?

³¹ And Jesus answering said to them, They who are well do not need a physician, but they who are sick. ³² I have not come to call righteous men, but sinners to repentance.
