John's disciples came and took his body away, and buried him, and then they went and reported it to Jesus. When Jesus heard it, he quietly retired by boat to a secluded place. And the crowds heard of it and followed him on foot from the towns.
Afterward, when he was alone, the disciples went to Jesus and said to him, "Why could we not drive it out?"
When he had gone home, and his disciples were alone with him, they asked him, "Why could not we drive it out?"
As he was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to him by themselves, and said to him, "Tell us when this is to happen, and what will be the sign of your coming, and of the close of the age."

I tell you, that is the only reward they will get! But when you pray, go into your own room, and shut the door, and pray to your Father who is unseen, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.
And he immediately made his disciples get into the boat and cross before him to the other side while he dismissed the crowds. After he had dismissed them he went up the hill by himself to pray. And when evening came on he was there alone,

It was in those days that he went up on the mountain to pray, and passed the whole night in prayer to God.
