Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

Luke 9:18-20

18 One day while He was praying in solitude, His disciples were nearby, and He asked them, "Who do people say that I am?"

19 They answered, "John the Baptist; though others say Elijah, and still others that one of the ancient prophets has come back to life."

20 So He said to them, "But who do you, yourselves, say that I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God!"

John 6:66-71

66 As a result of this many of His disciples turned their backs on Him and stopped accompanying Him. 67 So Jesus said to the Twelve, "You too do not want to go back, do you?"

68 Simon Peter answered Him, "To whom can we go, Lord? You have the message that gives eternal life, 69 and we have come to believe, yes more, we know by experience, that you are the Holy One of God."

70 Jesus answered them, "Did I not myself select you as the Twelve? And yet one of you is a devil." 71 He was referring to Judas, Simon Iscariot's son, for he was going to betray Him, although he was one of the Twelve.
