Then John's disciples came and carried off his corpse, and buried him, and went and reported it to Jesus. When Jesus heard it, He left there in a boat for a quiet place, to be alone. And when the crowds heard of it, they followed Him on foot from the towns.
After that the disciples came to Jesus and privately asked, "Why is it we could not drive it out?"
When Jesus got home and was by Himself, His disciples were asking Him, "Why could not we drive it out?"
While He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came up to Him by themselves, and said, "Tell us when this is to take place, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age."
As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives opposite the temple, Peter, James, John, and Andrew, in a private group, were asking Him,
Then He turned to His disciples when they were alone, and said, "Blessed are the eyes that see what you are seeing.
I went up under the guidance of a divine revelation. Now I laid before them the good news that I was in the habit of preaching among the heathen, but first I did so privately before the leaders, for fear that my course might be or might have been to no purpose.
One day while He was praying in solitude, His disciples were nearby, and He asked them, "Who do people say that I am?"
"Also, whenever you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners, to attract the attention of people. I solemnly say to you, they already have their reward. But whenever you, follower of mine, pray, you must go to your most private place, shut the door, and pray to your Father in secret, and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you.
And He at once had the disciples get into the boat and cross to the other side ahead of Him, while He dismissed the crowds. After He had dismissed the crowds, He went up the hill alone to pray. And after the evening came on, He was there alone,
Then He insisted that the disciples at once get into their boat and cross ahead of Him toward Bethsaida, while He was sending the crowd away. After He had told them "Goodbye," He went up the hill to pray.
Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and He said to the disciples, "Sit down here while I go over yonder and pray."

Now it was in those days that He went up on the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.
