1 John 1:1-4 - Prologue

¹ That which was from the beginning, that which we have heard, that which we have seen with our eyes, that which we looked upon, and our hands handled, concerning the word of life, ² and the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and announce to you the everlasting life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us, ³ that which we have seen and heard we announce to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. ⁴ And these things we write to you, that your joy may be full.

¹ The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show to his servants what must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John; ² who bore witness of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ,of whatever he saw. ³ Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things written therein; for the time is at hand.
