John 4:27-38 - The Disciples And The Harvest

²⁷ And upon this came His disciples: and they were wondering that He was talking with a woman; yet no one said, "What seekest Thou?" or, "Why talkest Thou with her?"

²⁸ The woman, therefore, left her waterjar, and went away into the city, and says to the men, ²⁹ "Come, see a Man Who told me all things that I ever did: can This be the Christ?" ³⁰ They went forth out of the city, and were coming to Him.

³¹ In the meantime the disciples were entreating Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat."

³² But He said to them, "I have food to eat that ye know not of."

³³ The disciples, therefore, said to one another, "Has any one brought Him anything to eat?"

³⁴ Jesus saith to them, "My food is to do the will of Him Who sent Me, and to finish His work. ³⁵ Say not ye, 'There are yet four months, and the harvest is coming?' Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and view the fields, because they are white for harvest. ³⁶ He who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit unto life eternal; that both he that sows and he that reaps may rejoice together. ³⁷ For in this is the saying true, 'One sows, and another reaps.' ³⁸ I sent you to reap that on which ye bestowed no labor; others have labored, and ye entered into their labor."
