Luke 18:1-8 - The Parable Of The Unjust Judge

¹ And he spoke a parable to them, that they ought always to pray, and not to become weary, ² saying: There was in a certain city a judge, who neither feared God nor regarded man. ³ And there was a widow in that city, and she came to him, and said: Avenge me on my opponent at law.

⁴ And for a while he refused. But afterward he said within himself: Though I fear not God, nor regard man, ⁵ yet, because this widow troubles me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

⁶ And the Lord said: Hear what the unjust judge says; ⁷ and will not God avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night, though he delay long in respect to them? ⁸ I say to you, that he will avenge them speedily. Yet, when the Son of man comes, will he find the faith on the earth?
