37 And when they heard this, they were pierced to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what must we do?
38 But Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized to the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins, and ye will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this perverse generation.
41 They therefore received his word, and were baptized; and there were added on that day about three thousand souls.
