Mark 3:13-19 - The Selection Of The Twelve Apostles

¹³ And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth to him whom he would, and they came to him. ¹⁴ And he ordained twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, ¹⁵ And to have power to heal diseases and to cast out devils.

¹⁶ And Simon he surnamed Peter: And James the son of Zebedee, ¹⁷ and John the brother of James (and he surnamed them Boanerges, ¹⁸ that is, the sons of thunder) And Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alpheus, and Thaddeus, ¹⁹ and Simon the Canaanite, And Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

¹² And in those days he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in the prayer of God. ¹³ And when it was day, he called to him his disciples, and chose twelve of them, whom also he named Apostles:

¹⁴ Simon (whom also he named Peter) and Andrew his brother: ¹⁵ James and John; Philip and Bartholomew; Matthew and Thomas, ¹⁶ James the son of Alpheus, and Simon called Zelotes, Jude the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, who also was the traitor.
