The angel of the LORD said to her, "I will greatly multiply your seed, that they will not be numbered for multitude." The angel of the LORD said to her, "Behold, you are with child, and will bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the LORD has heard your affliction. He will be like a wild donkey among men. His hand will be against every man, and every man's hand against him. He will live opposite all of his brothers." She called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, "You are a God who sees," for she said, "Have I even stayed alive after seeing him?"

The angel of the LORD called to him out of the sky, and said, "Abraham, Abraham." He said, "Here I am." He said, "Do not lay your hand on the boy, neither do anything to him. Your seed will possess the gate of his enemies. In your seed will all the nations of the earth be blessed, because you have obeyed my voice."
