For however many are the promises of God, in him they are "Yes." Therefore also through him they are "Amen," to the glory of God through us.

For what great nation is there, that has a god so near to them, as the LORD our God is whenever we call on him?

We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshipper of God, and does his will, he listens to him.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, without any doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
