The Lord Jesus was emphatically 'the prophet of God,' whose coming was foretold in De 18:15,18. When on earth He said that the works which He did, and the words that He spoke, were not from Himself, but were what He had seen and heard of His Father. Joh 14:10,24. He was the perfect exponent of God's mind to the Jews (Ac 3:22; 7:37), and the proclaimer of God's grace to a guilty world. Lu 14:15-24; 2Co 5:19.

Jehovah your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your fellow Israelites. Listen to him!
I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you. I will put my words in his mouth. He will speak to them all that I command him.

Do you not believe that I am with the Father and that the Father is with me? The words I say to you are not from me, but the Father dwells with me and does his works.
He who does not love me does not obey my words. The word you hear is not mine, but comes from the Father who sent me.
Moses said to the fathers, 'Jehovah will raise up for your brothers a prophet like me. You must listen to all the things he speaks to you.' (Deuteronomy 18:18)
This is the Moses that said to the children of Israel, your God will raise up a prophet like me from your brothers.
