Reference: RESPECT OF PERSONS
American
The judges of the Hebrews were directed to give sentence strictly according to truth and justice, without regard to the comparative wealth, influence or other advantage of one party over the other, Le 19:15; De 16:17; Pr 24:23. Thus God judges, not according to outward appearance or station, but according to the heart, Ac 10:34; Ro 2:6-11. Thus ought men to estimate and treat their fellow men; and to court the favor of the rich and influential is sharply censured in Scripture, Pr 28:21; Jas 2:1-9; Jude 1:16.

And Peter, opening his mouth, said, In truth I apprehend that God is no respecter of persons:
who will give to each one according to his works: to those indeed who with patience of good work are seeking glory and honor and immortality, eternal life: read more. but to those who are of self-seeking, and disobedient to the truth, but obedient to unrighteousness, there are indignation and wrath. Tribulation and anguish upon every soul of man that is working out evil, both the Jew first, and the Greek; but glory and honor and peace to every one doing good; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For there is no respect of persons with God.
My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect to persons. For if a gold-ringed man may come into your synagogue, in shining apparel, and a poor man may also come in with soiled clothing; read more. and you may look upon the one wearing the shining garment, and say, Sit thou here in a good place; and may say to the poor man, Stand thou there, or sit down beneath my footstool: are you not condemned among yourselves, and have you not become the judges of evil reasonings? Hear, my beloved brethren. Has not God chosen the poor in the world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he has promised to those who love him with divine love? You have dishonored the poor. Do not the rich domineer over you, and drag you into courts? Do they not blaspheme the good name which has been called upon you? If indeed you keep the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbor with divine love as thyself, you do well. But if you have respect of persons, you commit sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors.
These are querulous grumblers, going forth according to their own lusts; and their mouth speaking swelling words, admiring persons for the sake of gain.
