How can you believe, you who receive honor from one another and do not seek the honor that comes from God only?
Nor did we seek glory from men, neither from you nor from others, being able to be so with heaviness, as apostles of Christ.
Take heed that you do not do your merciful deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward with your Father in Heaven. Therefore when you do your merciful deeds, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may have glory from men. But to those who indeed disobeying the truth out of self-seeking, and obeying unrighteousness, will be anger and wrath,
For I say, through the grace given to me, to every one who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think. But set your mind to be right-minded, even as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith.
But He gives more grace. Therefore He says, God resists the proud, but He gives grace to the humble.
For you ought to put off the old man (according to your way of living before) who is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves. Do not let each man look upon his own things, but each man also on the things of others. For let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
