This term is found six times in AV of OT. It is applied to Eliezer in Ge 15:2, where RV rightly tr 'he that shall he possessor of my house.' In Ge 43:19; 44:1-4 Joseph's 'steward' (AV and RV) is lit. In the evening the owner of the vineyard said to his steward 'Call the laborers, and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, and ending with the first.
