These also are the things we [apostles] speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but [in words] taught by the Holy Spirit. We use [or, combine] Spirit-taught words to express [or, with] Spirit-given truth.

is this only the voice of reason? does not the law express the same too?

If I partake with thankfulness, why am I maligned about which I express thanks?

One man receives through the Spirit the power to speak wisely, another, by the same Spirit, receives the power to express knowledge,

In like manner things inanimate, giving sound, whether the pipe, or the harp, unless they express a distinction in their tones, how shall it be known what is piped, or what is harped?

in like manner, if you express yourselves in words of obscure signification, you may as well talk to the wind, for how shall any comprehend you?

For thou indeed express thanks well, but the other man is not edified.
