They went away from us, but they were not of us. For, if they had been of us, they would have abode with us; but they went away, that they might be made manifest that they were not of us.

Therefore, let what you have heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you have heard from the beginning, abide in you; you also shall abide in the Son, and in the Father:

but the unction which you have received from him abides in you; and you have no need that any one should teach you, unless the same unction teaches you concerning all things, and is truth, and is no lie: and as it has taught you, you will abide in him.

Now he who keeps His commandments, abides in him, and He in him; and by this we know that he abides in us, even by the Spirit, which he has given us.

And we have known, and believed the love which God has in us. God is love; wherefore, he who abides in love, abides in God, and God in him.

Whoever transgresses, and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ, has not God: he who abides in the doctrine of Christ, has both the Father and the Son.

He who says he abides in him, ought, himself, also, so to walk even as he walked.

No one has seen God, at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and his love is made perfect in us.

By this, we know that we abide in him, and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit.

Whoever will confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.
