But he denied, saying, I do not know nor understand what thou sayest. And he went out into the forecourt; and a cock crew.

And immediately a cock crew a second time. And Peter called to mind the word that Jesus had said to him, Before a cock crows twice, thou wilt thrice deny me. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he was yet speaking, a cock crew.
