To morrow about this time I will send thee a man out of the land of Benjamin, and thou shalt anoint him to be H5057 over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry is come unto me.

Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be H5057 over his inheritance?

Then ye shall come up after him, that he may come and sit upon my throne; for he shall be king in my stead: and I have appointed him to be H5057 over Israel and over Judah.

Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee H5057 over my people Israel,

Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee H5057 over my people Israel; and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, to provoke me to anger with their sins;
