Timothy » Paul's love for
This charge, my child Timotheus, I commit to thee, according to the prophecies as to thee preceding, in order that thou mightest war by them the good warfare,
For this reason I have sent to you Timotheus, who is my beloved and faithful child in the Lord, who shall put you in mind of my ways as they are in Christ, according as I teach everywhere in every assembly.
But ye know the proof of him, that, as a child a father, he has served with me in the work of the glad tidings.
to Timotheus, my true child in faith: grace, mercy, peace, from God our Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

I am thankful to God, whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, how unceasingly I have the remembrance of thee in my supplications night and day, earnestly desiring to see thee, remembering thy tears, that I may be filled with joy;
