These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their towns and castles; twelve princes of nations.

And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their castles, with fire.

And the inhabiters of Jebus said to David, "Thou comest not here." Neverthelater, David won the castle of Zion, which is called the city of David.

And because David dwelt in the castle, therefore it was called the city of David.

And so Jehoshaphat prospered and grew up on high. And he built, in Judah, castles and store cities.

Moreover, he built cities in the mountains of Judah, and in the wood country he built castles and towers.

And one cried this, another that, among the people. And when he could not know the certainty, for the rage, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.

And as Paul should have been carried into the castle; He said unto the high captain, "May I speak unto thee?" Which said, "Canst thou speak Greek?

And when there arose great debate, the captain fearing lest Paul should have been plucked asunder of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

When Paul's sister's son heard of their laying await, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

On the morrow they left horsemen to go with him, and returned unto the castle.


And Israel went thence and pitched up his tent beyond the tower of Eder.

And unto thee, O thou tower of Eder, thou stronghold of the daughter Zion, unto thee shall it come: even the first lordship and kingdom of the daughter Jerusalem.


For thy great and manifold saving of thy king, and showing mercy unto thine anointed, even to David, and his seed forever.
