"Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Wherefore we ought to give the more heed to the things which we have heard, lest we perish. For if the word which was spoken by angels was steadfast - so that every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense to reward - how shall we escape if we despise so great salvation? Which at the first began to be preached of the Lord himself, and afterward was confirmed unto us ward, by them that heard it;
See that ye despise not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not which refused him that spake on earth; Much more shall we not escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:
and keepest mercy in store for thousands, and forgivest wickedness, trespass and sin - for there is no man innocent before thee - and visitest the wickedness of the fathers upon the children and upon children's children, even unto the third and fourth generation."
