For Jehovah thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; and thy camp shall be holy, that he see nothing unseemly with thee, and turn away from thee.

Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh on the vault of the heavens.

Thou didst walk through the sea with thy horses, The heap of great waters.


but the seventh day is the sabbath of Jehovah thy God: thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy bondman, nor thy handmaid, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy sojourner that is within thy gates; that thy bondman and thy handmaid may rest as well as thou.

And God had finished on the seventh day his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and hallowed it, because that on it he rested from all his work which God had created in making it.


It shall be a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever; for in six days Jehovah made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

For he has said somewhere of the seventh day thus, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works:

For he that has entered into his rest, he also has rested from his works, as God did from his own.


And with whom was he wroth forty years? Was it not with those who had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?


So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the LORD; and he became indignant over the misery of Israel.

Forty years was I grieved with the generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways;

Wherefore I was wroth with this generation, and said, They always err in heart; and they have not known my ways;


The Lord laugheth at him; for he seeth that his day is coming.

He that dwelleth in the heavens shall laugh, the Lord shall have them in derision.

But thou, Jehovah, wilt laugh at them; thou wilt have all the nations in derision.



And he saw that there was no man, and he wondered that there was no intercessor; and his arm brought him salvation, and his righteousness, it sustained him.

And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: and mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me.

And he wondered because of their unbelief. And he went round the villages in a circuit, teaching.


Put me in remembrance, let us plead together; rehearse thine own cause, that thou mayest be justified.

But he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people: Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? Where is he that put his holy Spirit within him,


Awake, why sleepest thou, Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

And gave his strength into captivity, and his glory into the hand of the oppressor;


Jehovah hath sworn by his right hand and by the arm of his strength, I will indeed no more give thy corn to be food for thine enemies; and the sons of the alien shall not drink thy new wine, for which thou hast laboured;








And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living soul of all flesh that is upon the earth.


Thou wilt say to me then, Why does he yet find fault? for who resists his purpose?
