The LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire: you heard the voice of words, but you saw no form; you only heard a voice. He declared to you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even the ten commandments; and he wrote them on two tablets of stone. The LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and ordinances, that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it.

These things contain an allegory, for these are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children to slavery, which is Hagar. For this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and represents Jerusalem that exists now, for she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother.
