An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked: "There is no fear of God before his eyes."
The wicked, in the pride of his face, has no room in his thoughts for God. His ways are prosperous at all times. Your judgments are far from his sight. As for all his adversaries, he sneers at them.
God, who is enthroned forever, will hear, and answer them. Selah. They never change, who do not fear God.
Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but their thinking became nonsense, and their foolish heart was darkened.
"But this people has a revolting and a rebellious heart; they have revolted and gone. Neither do they say in their heart, 'Let us now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.'
The Lord said, "Because this people draws near with their mouth and with their lips to honor me, but they have removed their heart far from me, but in vain do they worship me, teaching the commandments and doctrines of men.
And he answered them, "Why do you also disobey the commandment of God because of your tradition? For God said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.' But you say, 'Whoever may tell his father or his mother, "Whatever help you might otherwise have gotten from me is a gift devoted to God,"read more.
he shall not honor his father or mother.' You have made the word of God void because of your tradition. You hypocrites. Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, saying, 'These people honor me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.'"
and it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life; that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them; that his heart not be lifted up above his brothers, and that he not turn aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he and his children, in the midst of Israel.
An oracle is within my heart about the disobedience of the wicked: "There is no fear of God before his eyes." For he flatters himself in his own eyes, too much to detect and hate his sin.
lest I be full, deny you, and say, 'Who is the LORD?' or lest I be poor, and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.
For the zeal of your house consumes me. The reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.
Arise, God. Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day. Do not forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.
How much worse punishment, do you think, will he be judged worthy of, who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

Let the lying lips be mute, which speak against the righteous insolently, with pride and contempt.

For "the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," just as it is written.

but whoever may blaspheme against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is guilty of an eternal sin"?
Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, "This man does not cast out demons, except by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons."
Therefore I make known to you that no man speaking by God's Spirit says, "Jesus is accursed." No one can say, "Jesus is Lord," but by the Holy Spirit.
The Jewish leaders answered him, "We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God."
But Jesus held his peace. The high priest answered him, "I adjure you by the living God, that you tell us whether you are the Messiah, the Son of God." Jesus said to him, "You have said it. Nevertheless, I tell you, after this you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power, and coming on the clouds of the sky." The high priest tore his clothes, and said, "What further need have we of witnesses? You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him to be worthy of death.
For God said, 'Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'He who speaks evil of father or mother, let him be put to death.'
"Anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.
"'For everyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death: he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.
Whoever curses his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in blackness of darkness.
There is a generation that curses their father, and doesn't bless their mother.
He lurks in secret as a lion in his ambush. He lies in wait to catch the helpless. He catches the helpless, when he draws him in his net. The helpless are crushed. They collapse. They fall under his strength. He says in his heart, "God has forgotten. He hides his face. He will never see it."
But as for me, my feet were almost gone. My steps had nearly slipped. For I was envious of the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. For there are no struggles in their death, but their strength is firm.read more.
They are free from burdens of men, neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride is like a chain around their neck. Violence covers them like a garment. Their eyes bulge with fat. Their minds pass the limits of conceit. They scoff and speak with malice. In arrogance, they threaten oppression. They have set their mouth in the heavens. Their tongue walks through the earth. Therefore their people return to them, and they drink up waters of abundance. They say, "How does God know? Is there knowledge in the Most High?"
They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast. They break your people in pieces, LORD, and afflict your heritage. They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.read more.
They say, "The LORD will not see, neither will Jacob's God consider."
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil. I hate pride, arrogance, the evil way, and the perverse mouth.
Whoever mocks the poor reproaches his Maker. He who is glad at calamity shall not be unpunished.
He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for his Maker, but he who is kind to the needy honors him.
but you turned and profaned my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom you had let go free at their pleasure, to return; and you brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.
One has committed abomination with his neighbor's wife; and another has lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in you has humbled his sister, his father's daughter. In you have they taken bribes to shed blood; you have taken interest and increase, and you have greedily gained of your neighbors by oppression, and have forgotten me,' says the Lord GOD.
saying, "There was a judge in a certain city who did not fear God, and did not respect man.

When therefore you assemble yourselves together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat. For in your eating each one takes his own supper first. One is hungry, and another is drunk. Ephraim has bitterly provoked anger. Therefore his blood will be left on him, and his Lord will repay his contempt.
If you will fear the LORD, and serve him, and listen to his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then both you and also the king who reigns over you are followers of the LORD your God. But if you will not listen to the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then will the hand of the LORD be against you, and against your king.
If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, The LORD your God; then the LORD will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and severe sicknesses, and of long continuance.
