Thematic Bible: Dissensions in

Thematic Bible

For I am afraid that when I come I may not find you what I wish you to be, and you may not find me what you wish me to be; I fear that there may be quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, factions, slander, gossip, arrogance and disorder. I am afraid that when I come again my God will humble me before you, and I will have to mourn over many of those who sinned before and have not repented of the impurity, immorality, and lewdness which they have practiced.

For I have been informed by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you, my brethren. What I mean is this, that each one of you says, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

for you are still carnal. For since there is jealousy and strife among you, are you not carnal, and are you not walking like mere men? For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not mere men?

For, in the first place, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it. For there must be factions among you in order that those who are genuine among you may be recognized.
