The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:
But all things that are reproved, are made manifest by the light: for whatever doth make manifest is light.

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men have loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God who raiseth the dead:
For as the Father raiseth the dead, and reviveth them; even so the Son reviveth whom he will.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who giveth us the victory, through our Lord Jesus Christ.
