And all his acquaintance, and the women that had followed him from Galilee, stood at a distance looking on these things.

And the women that had come with him from Galilee followed after and saw the sepulcher, and how his body was laid. And they returned, and prepared spices and ointment; and they rested on the sabbath, according to the commandment.

And on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the sepulcher, bringing the spices which they had prepared; and with them came certain others. And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulcher; and they entered in, but found not the body of the Lord Jesus. read more.
And it came to pass, while they were much perplexed at this, behold, two men stood by them in shining raiment. And while they feared and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them: Why seek you among the dead for him that lives? He is not here, but he has risen; remember that he spoke to you while he was yet in Galilee, saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words, and returned from the sepulcher, and told all these things to the eleven and to the rest. It was Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, that told these things to the apostles.

And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulcher that had been hewed out of a rock: and he rolled a stone to the door of the sepulcher. And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.

And when the sabbath had passed, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, that they might come and anoint him. And very early, on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they came to the sepulcher. And they said among themselves: Who will roll away the stone for us from the door of the sepulcher? read more.
for it was very great. And looking up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away. And they entered the sepulcher, and saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe: and they were frightened. But he said to them: Be not frightened; you seek Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen; he is not here: see the place where they laid him.

And there followed him a great number of the people, and of women that bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turned, and said to them, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
