It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles.

And having bought fine linen, he took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre, which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the sepulchre. And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses, beheld where he was laid.
And when the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Salome, had bought spices, that they might come and embalm him. And very early in the morning, the first day of the week, they come to the sepulchre, at the rising of the sun. And they said one to another, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre? read more.
(For it was very great:) And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled away. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man, sitting on the right-side, clothed in a white robe; and they were affrighted. He saith to them, Be not affrighted: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen: he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him.
(For it was very great:) And looking up, they saw that the stone was rolled away. And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man, sitting on the right-side, clothed in a white robe; and they were affrighted. And there followed him a great company of people and of women, who also bewailed and lamented him. But Jesus turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children.
