For it is written, that Abraham had two sons; one by a bondmaid, and one by a free woman. But the one by the bondmaid was born according to the flesh; the other, by the free woman, was by promise. For Hagar represents Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free; and she is the mother of us all.
