He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace." While he still spoke, one from the ruler of the synagogue's house came, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher." But Jesus hearing it, answered him, "Do not be afraid. Only believe, and she will be healed." When he came to the house, he did not allow anyone to enter in with him, except Peter, John, James, the father of the child, and her mother. All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, "Do not weep. She is not dead, but sleeping." They were ridiculing him, knowing that she was dead. But he, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Child, arise." Her spirit returned, and she rose up immediately. He commanded that something be given to her to eat. Her parents were amazed, but he commanded them to tell no one what had been done.

The nobleman said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies." Jesus said to him, "Go your way. Your son lives." The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. As he was now going down, his servants met him, saying that his son was alive. So he inquired of them the hour when he began to get better. They said therefore to him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour, the fever left him." So the father knew that it was at that hour in which Jesus said to him, "Your son lives." He believed, as did his whole house. This is again the second sign that Jesus did, having come out of Judea into Galilee.
