Wherefore, since we also have so great a cloud of witnesses lying round about us, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that lies before us, looking to Jesus the author and finisher of the faith, who, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such opposition of sinners against himself, lest you become weary and despondent in your minds.

To this, indeed, you have been called; because even Christ suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his footsteps. He did no sin, nor was guile found in his mouth. When he was reviled, he did not revile again; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judges righteously.

For consider him that endured such opposition of sinners against himself, lest you become weary and despondent in your minds.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith: henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me at that day; and not to me only, but to all those who love his appearing.

For consider him that endured such opposition of sinners against himself, lest you become weary and despondent in your minds.

For consider him that endured such opposition of sinners against himself, lest you become weary and despondent in your minds. You have not yet resisted to blood, in your contest with sin;

Be patient, therefore, brethren, till the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer looks for the precious fruit of the earth, and waits patiently for it, till he receives the early and the latter rain. Be you also patient, establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draws near.

in love to the brotherhood, be kindly affectionate one to another; in showing honor, be examples one to another; in what requires diligence, be not slothful; in spirit, be fervent; in service, be devoted to the Lord; in hope, be joyful; in affliction, be patient; in prayer, be per severing;

For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise. For yet a very, very little while, and He that comes will come, and will not delay.
