I tell you, even though he won’t get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his friend’s persistence, he will get up and give him as much as he needs.

yet because this widow keeps pestering me, I will give her justice, so she doesn’t wear me out by her persistent coming.’”





Then I fell down like the first time in the presence of the Lord for 40 days and 40 nights; I did not eat bread or drink water because of all the sin you committed, doing what was evil in the Lord’s sight and provoking Him to anger.


Then he said, “Let the Lord not be angry, and I will speak one more time. Suppose 10 are found there?”He answered, “I will not destroy it on account of 10.”


Then He said to Jacob, “Let Me go, for it is daybreak.”But Jacob said, “I will not let You go unless You bless me.”


Elijah was a man with a nature like ours; yet he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the land.




“Sir,” the official said to Him, “come down before my boy dies!”
